Insurance and Waivers:
Check the policies for the location of your desired rental. Most rentals do not automatically include insurance coverage. However, several types of coverage can be purchased at most locations, such as loss/damage waivers, personal accident insurance, and supplemental liability insurance.

Late Charges:
Returning your rental car past the pre-arranged date and time can be very costly. Be sure to arrange plenty of time to have your car returned before the time on your rental agreement. If you plan on keeping your rental car for a few more days, be sure to contact the rental company in advance and arrange a new drop-off time

Where and how do I pick up my car?
You will be picking up your car at the San Jose del Cabo airport. The desk location of the rental company will be listed in the reservation. You can also obtain any transportation details (such as shuttle information) and the telephone number of the company and other information from the policies section of your reservation.

Documentation
In Mexico it is a legal requirement to be fully documented in a car. You will require the following in your posession:
• Driver's License
• Passport
• Tourist Permit (Provided by Customs upon arrival to Mexico)
• Rental Car Agreement (Provided by the rental agency)
• Proof of Mexican Car Insurance (Provided by the rental agency)

Beware of Animals
Another important consideration when driving, especially at night, is the presence of cattle and animals wandering into the roads. It is not uncommon for cows, sheep, dogs and other animals to wander aimlessly into the middle of the road - regardless of what may be travelling towards them!

Buying Fuel
You can buy fuel for your car at any PEMEX station (PEtroleos MEXicanos). PEMEX is the state-owned oil/petroleum company. The price will be the same at any station in the entire country, except along the US border where prices are more competitive. All PEMEX stations are Full Service, and it is a good idea to be prepared to pay in cash, as most PEMEX stations do not accept credit cards.
